Welcome to Board.Vision Tutorials. In this tutorial, we will walk you through the steps to create a survey.
Important Note: The Board.Vision web app is optimised and supported for desktop use on Google Chrome (version 65.0 and later) and Microsoft Edge (version 87.0 and later).
To create a survey:
1) Log in to your Board.Vision account using your registered email address and password.
2) From the left navigation menu, go to Survey Questionnaire, and click on +Add Survey.
3) Enter the Survey Name, Description (if any) and additional Settings, such as:
- Set a Deadline - Specify a closing date and time for survey responses.
- Allow recipient to edit their submission - Enable respondents to return and modify their answers after submission.
- Allow recipient to save their submission as draft. - Let respondents save partially completed surveys and continue later before the deadline.
4) To add another administrator, click on Add Administrator.
This will allow them to manage or monitor the survey, including viewing responses, editing settings, or ensuring continuity if the main administrator is unavailable.
5) Next, enter the recipient's email manually, or click on Add BV User to select from existing Board.Vision users. Then, click on Next.
6) On the Create Survey form, enter your first question in the provided field.
To include additional questions, click on Add Question and repeat the process for each new question you want to include in the survey.
7) Select the answer type for the question.
Choose from the available options based on your survey’s needs:
Text/Comment Box using Text Editor - For open-ended answers with formatting.
Radio Button - For single-answer multiple-choice questions.
Rating Scale (e.g., 1–5) - For rating feedback or satisfaction levels.
Dropdown List - For single-answer selection from a list.
Checkboxes - For single-answer selection from a list.
- Single Selection Dropdown (Single Answer) - For selecting one answer from a dropdown menu. – For selecting multiple answers from a dropdown menu.
- Multi Selection Dropdown (Multiple Answers)
- Yes/No
- Single-Line Input – For short text responses.
- Long text Input – For detailed, longer responses.
- Single-Select Matrix – For selecting one answer per row in a matrix layout.
- File Upload – To allow respondents to attach documents or files.
- Image Picker - Allows users to select images as their response.
- Ranking – Lets users rank items in order of preference.
- Multiple Textboxes – Collect several related text inputs in one question.
- Images – Use images as part of the question or answer options.
- Dynamic Panel – Add conditional sections that expand based on previous answers.
- Attachment – Allow respondents to attach documents or images.
This ensures responses are captured in the format best suited to your survey question.
8) Build Your Survey Using AI (Optional) - This feature speeds up survey creation.
9) Board.Vision’s survey tool allows you to quickly generate questions with AI assistance:
Provide a survey topic or goal (e.g., “Annual Engagement Survey”) and click on Generate.
10) AI will suggest relevant questions automatically.
You can review, edit, or add more questions as needed to match your requirements.
11) Click on Preview to review the survey before publishing. Once done updating, click on Activate.
12) On the "Activate Survey" pop-up window, select the Notify Recipient checkbox and click on Confirm.
